I am just a reference point

Here is way more than anyone coud ever need or even want to know,

but you are welcome to read the short and the long versions of my background here below.

Short fun version first and the long boring version underneath it. But no matter what,

please be impressed, 8-) I haven’t been a workaholic Type A personality all my life for nothing. LOL ;-)

Short Fun Version:                                                          Gregg P. Sullivan

Here are all my Film and TV production industry credits as well as my personal biography:  My first love was Radio so I started working at NPR and WBAI then I moved over to TV and worked at Channel 5 in NYC then, ABC TV, then worked at CBS TV for 10 years, Mostly news, local, network and 60 Minutes but also worked for CBS Sports traveling around the country airing live sports events and Space Shuttle Launches, and I worked on the Soaps “The Guiding Light” and “As The World Turns”.

Lived in a great 2,200 square ft loft on Canal St and WBwy in Soho for 11 years before I went out to Hollywood to work in the film industry running my own film studios for 10 years where I worked with over 300 major feature films like “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” with Johnny Depp, “In the line of fire’ with Clint Eastwood, “Hoffa” with Jack Nicholson, “Forrest Gump” with Tom Hanks, “Pulp Fiction” with Quentin Tarantino, Bruce Willis, James Gandolfini, John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Rosanna Arquette, Harvey Keitel, Christopher Walken and Steve Buscemi, “For The Boys” with Bette Midler, “Sister Act” 1 & 2 with Whoopie Goldberg, “Marrying Man” with Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin, “Switch” with Blake Edwards, Ellen Barkin and Jimmy Smits,”Frankie and Johnny” with Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer, “Mambo Kings” with Antonio Banderas and Armand Asante, “Dante’s Peak” with Pierce Brosnan, “The Doors” with Oliver Stone, “Pacific Heights” with Michael Keaton and Melanie Griffith, “Death becomes her” with Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn, “Mr. Hollands Opus” with Richard Dreyfus, “Doc Hollywood” with Michael J. Fox, and a lot more from Paramount, Disney, Warner Brothers, Universal, and Sony.

Lived in Newport Beach , then up on Summit Ridge drive and Mulholland in Beverly Hills, also in the Miracle Mile off Wilshire Blvd and Detroit St, then Loz Feliz.

Was blessed with a magnificent romance or two, with woman I admire, respect and still have the fondest of feelings for.

Met just about every actor, producer and director in the biz and consulted at USC in the Steven Speilberg and George Lucas funded Entertainment Technology Center developing internet technologies for the film industry while I Founded and Chaired a Trade Association in conjunction with the California Dept of Commerce and California Film Commission under Mellissa Higgens, overseeing 32 private film location companies. In my duties as Founder and Chairman of The Association of Film Location Services I was responsible for the creation and oversite of The Government, Marketing, Education, and Contract Committees where we standardized film industry location contracts. Was also responsible for the creation of the ethics committee and the oversite of its Arbitration Panels for problem resolution where we also createed the industry’s “Codes of Conduct”.

If you watch reruns of the 6th and 7th seasons of Cheers when Kirsty Ally was on it and Matlock and a bunch of other shows made in LA in the 90’s you see me all over the place and I also appear in the background of many of the movies I worked on like in the opening of “Less than Zero” with Robert Downy Jr.

Came back to NY to take care of my mother before she passed away and became active in the development of Bayside’s Bell Blvd Business Corridor. I’m completely dedicated to the community these days and seem to get in the papers a lot for work I do and issues I follow with economic development in NYC.

So, I’m just your average guy next door, but.
I do not believe;
that what I know is all there is to know,
that what I feel is all there is to feel,
that what I am capable of perceiving is all there is to perceive.

I have an insatiable desire to hear, understand, embrace and call my own,
the truths of others
and to expand my horizon of understanding and experience
beyond the limitations of my own filters, senses and experiences.

Long Boring Version

Gregg P. Sullivan

Mr. Sullivan began his prolific career at NPR/Pacifica Radio and Metromedia Television (channel 5) in NYC. In 1977 he accepted a position with ABC Network Television and in 1979 moved over to a position with the CBS Television Network in New York City in local and network news and quickly rose in the ranks to work for 60 Minutes. Over the course of his ten years with CBS, he went on from Audio Technician to serve as Technical Director for CBS cable and satellite operations, he also worked on space shuttle launches, special events and CBS sports. His credits at CBS also include terms at the Proctor and Gamble soaps, The Guiding Light and As The World Turns. During his ten years with CBS, Mr. Sullivan also worked on every local and national political convention and election broadcast. Before leaving CBS and New York for Los Angeles to explore opportunities with the big screen, Mr. Sullivan worked on numerous freelance productions as director and associate producer, rounding out his comprehensive background in television production.

In 1989, Mr. Sullivan founded his film studio development and management company, which has grossed millions since its inception and is recognized for having funneled over $58 million into the local economies surrounding his facilities. With over 300 films to his company’s credits, he has led the industry in the creation of efficient, cost effective alternative film studios including Donald Trump’s Ambassador Studios, LA’s Queen of Angels Studios for The Catholic Arch Diocese and Front Street Studios in Burbank in collaboration with the Halliburton Corporation. Each of these facilities has enjoyed the distinction of becoming the most film permitted sites in Los Angeles for four and five years respectively.

In 1991, at the request of the acting California Film Commissioner Melissa Higgins and with the support and guidance of the California Department of Commerce, Mr. Sullivan founded and chaired the Association of Film Location Services, a self-regulating trade association for the industry. In his duties as Chairman, Mr. Sullivan created and oversaw committees that developed and standardized location contracts, created guidelines for fiduciary performance and codes of conduct for the location industry as well as creating ethics committees and arbitration panels.

Mr. Sullivan also sat on the Board of Directors of the Hollywood-based environmental organization ECO (Earth Communications Office), on the development and marketing committees for the historic preservation group the Los Angeles Conservancy and on the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers Entertainment Industry Roundtable think tank.

In 1992 Mr. Sullivan also worked as a consultant to Kodak on their Eastman Exchange project for computerization of digital imaging and searchable databases of location photographs and left that program to accept an offer to consult on a research project at the Spielberg and Lucas funded Entertainment Technology Center of USC. Researching and developing Internet technologies starting in 1993 led Mr. Sullivan to the development and integration of high end communication and production technologies for the film, TV and education production industries, all resulting in career training, education programs and job creation.

Mr. Sullivan was the creator of HollyWired.net, Location On-Line and the Digital Directory, the world’s first web-site services for the entertainment industry, and holds the position of premier developer of the earliest “B to B” commerce sites for content production. Developing the internet for the Hollywood entertainment industry starting in 1991 before graphics could be transmitted over the web, Mr. Sullivan foresaw the Internet to be the ideal vehicle for the international distribution of content as well as a global link between locations, studios, products, services, specialists all over the world and the decision makers in the film, television, music video and still photography industries who need them. He personally developed and guided the services from their inception, inventing the search parameters and the user interface programs. His model and designs remain the foundations and fundamental operating systems now used by the film production industry over the net. Additionally, Mr. Sullivan has increased the productivity, efficiency and profitability of production studios by developing software that runs not only production facilities but hotels, motels, and other real estate and retail businesses requiring short and long term booking scheduling.

Mr. Sullivan’s accomplished performance history and practical experience with business management, strategic planning and marketing combined with his formidable knowledge and experience with entrepreneurial endeavor and breaking new ground, successful leadership and implementation of “out of the box” thinking make him an excellent Business Consultant or Board Member for any enterprise.
