The Chinese have a one word Oxymoron, 危机 (wēi jī)
that means Danger and Opportunity at the same time.
I recently realized we have one word in English that does the same.
While being the saddest word in our language
because it can represent the ending of a relationship,
the end of something that had everlasting promise, but failed to fulfill that promise,
the departure from LOVE that produced incredible joy,
It also stands as a benchmark for the release into freedom
from something that ran it’s course, and has now completed what it was for your life
and now signifies the joyful transition from what was to what will now be.
“Goodbye” is both sad and joyous.
It unshackles you from restraints that hold your life back from your full potentials
while heralding in a Hello, to your next and newest potentials
for reaching the greatest version, of the grandest vision
ever you had of your life.
As “Breath” speaks to life itself,
with the exhale of what no longer serves you
to the inhale of what you need to keep going.
Goodbye exhales what no longer serves you and transitions you to what now will.
