<3 Shirley Temple has left us. What a miracle she was and what an incredible contribution she made to our country. FDR said that she was the greatest weapon we had during the depression and the war years to stenghten and empower our America and keep us going and smiling in our roughest hours. You don’t have to believe in God to wonder if the much needed gift we, the people of The United States of America got from the emergence of this incredible spirit and personality at the time she bleesed our lives wasn’t somehow some sort of divine intervention and help from on high.
Heaven just got delivered our most precious Angel. <3

Patrick Head As much as possible in the bringing up of my two Beautiful daughters I tried to instill the memories of my childhood that pertained to a girls nature. She was surely one of them. Along with Judy Garland and a host of many more …..her smiling face and puppy dog little eyes will forever be remembered by those that have been fortunate enough to have watched her …young and old . Thanks Gregg

A talented and ultra-adorable entertainer, she was America’s top box-office draw from 1935 to 1938. -
Diane Croudo I’ll never forget the scene in “The Little Princess” when she found her injured, soldier father – “But I’M Sarah!!” She could tear your heart out!! How she remembered all those dance steps at her age and the expertise with which she performed them was just amazing. Here was an idyllic children’s role model – unlike so many of today. Yes, I know, those days are gone – but we are all diminished by her loss. I fear we shall never see the likes of you again. You will always be remembered with love and pride. R.I.P. Sweetheart!! You shall be sorely missed.

Ilene Rosenberg She was a miracle! I’ve never seen a young child dance so effortlessly as she did with Bill Robinson. I wish I had kept my Shirley Temple doll that sat on my pillow every day…and she was my first record! I used to dance and lip sync to the Good Ship Lollypop when I was 5 years old in the privacy of my bedroom.

There was a movie where she was in a school and she showed such love for a orphan girl who she befriended. You don’t see these kinds of roles and acts of kindness in kids in the movies today. -

She will be miss , I remember her when I was a kid ,I mush of watch all of her movies , she was part of my childhood ,Peace be with her . -
Jolie Kanter I was amazed to see her, at the age of five, tap dance on top of a baby grand piano and not once look down at her feet.
She was not only adorable, she was brave and confident! She really took my breath away and always left me wanting more.
As a child I never watched cartoons. They were mostly stupid and violent and senseless. I felt too grown up for Daffy Duck but give me Shirley Temple in a heartbeat.
Every time we went out to eat and grown ups ordered cocktails, I would beg for a Shirley Temple, a mix of Seven Up and cherry flavor (grenadine, perhaps), beautifully garnished with an umbrella speared orange slice and a bright red cherry. I stopped asking after a series of no’s but I think I might order that virgin drink one of these days.
Yummy and sweet just like its namesake: the multi-talented little angel who will live in our hearts forever.
Rest peacefully, Ms. Shirley Temple Black. -

Wow! You should’ve become a writer, you have a way with words that touch people, keep on writing and do what you love . -
Gregg P Sullivan Thank you so muchRudolfo Serrano. I just write because I write. But hearing words of appreciation feels really rewarding that It’s not just words going out there that nobody appreciates. So, thank you very much for your kind words. You just made Hump Day a little brighter for me

Yes , it’s a beautiful way to describe her, but then again, their are not enough words to describe her life in this earth , she was truly an angel and a great person , we will carry her in our hearts and will remember her…. -
Gayle DePoli She was a trailblazer in all three acts of her life. As an acress her movies were the first to show an interracial touch. The brilliant dancing up and down the steps while holding hands with Bill “Bojangles” Robinson. She ran for political office and was an Ambassador during tough times. And was the first famous woman to announce she was battling breast cancer. She became an advocate for women’s health issues. That awareness decades ago helped save many lives. FDR was correct. And still decades away from showing her potential.

Gregg P Sullivan Gayle DePoli as always, I am inspired by your comments and the points you made and think we should all start another ” INTENTION AVALANCE ” pledging to all start being our own Shirley Temples I grew up in a family already freed from prejudice. I am so much more grateful to my parents now, recognizing the true worth of the values they taught by example than I was when i was unknowingly receiving them growing up. So to with Shirley Temple, we all unknowingly benefitted and the world is a better place by the values she demonstrated, where respect and generousity are given to all. She was an ambassador of good will and champion of good causes her whole life. From aiding interpersonal relationships and promoting social behavioral health through her movie characters, to her promoting and aiding geo-political health through her international diplomacy, to the health of woman all over the world through her promoting breast cancer awareness. What an exemplary life and role model !!! God Bless that Angel, as we were certainly blessed through her So, we should honor her by keeping it going What do you think about “A Shirley Temple Intention Avalanche” where we pass around the promise from one to another that from this day forward, in honor of Shirley Temple and what she did for us, that we repay the gift by passing it forward and pledging to live our lifes with respect and generosity towards all and by being Ambassadors, one and all, of good will and peace and health consciousness everywhere we go and in everything we do and let me be the first to Volunteer !! .____________________________________________________________________________

-
Susan Lovebug Storm Hugs Gregg P .. I solely agree . As my comment said she was an idol to me . Adore her . Always . Xoxoxo
-
Gregg P Sullivan I, Gregg P. Sullivan, pledge that from this day forward, I will live everyday of the rest of my life with the conscious intention of being an ambassador of good will and promoter of good health and to demonstrate respect and generosity towards everyone I meet. So help me Shirley Temple.
-
Cathe Green I am pledging “The Shirley Temple Oath”!!!
